POINTE-À-PITRE, Guadeloupe — Liat Air has launched a new direct air service between Antigua and Guadeloupe, adding another regional connection within the Eastern Caribbean network.
The inaugural flight departed on Thursday morning, with the route scheduled to operate twice weekly. The new service is intended to improve connectivity between the two islands for both business and leisure travelers.
The launch comes amid continued efforts by regional carriers to strengthen inter-island transportation and improve travel options within the Caribbean, where limited connectivity and high travel costs have long been recurring concerns for residents and businesses.
Tourism and cultural exchange
Liat Air stated that the route is expected to support regional tourism and cultural exchange between the islands.
