THE BOTTOM — The search for missing Erik Matthijsen on Saba continues this morning, with teams from USAR.NL and the Saba Conservation Foundation deployed for ground search operations.
The USAR.NL team, consisting of nine dog handlers and their specially trained search dogs, travelled from the Netherlands and arrived on Saba on Sunday. Together with experienced members of the Saba Conservation Foundation, they will conduct an intensive search of the island’s terrain.
The Bottom Mountain Trail, Middle Island, and the North Coast Trail remain closed until further notice. The public is strongly urged to stay off these routes entirely.
