WINDWARDSIDE, Saba - The Harry L. Johnson Museum on Sunday joined the global observance of International Museum Day, highlighting the role museums play in preserving cultural heritage and sharing the stories of communities with future generations.
In a message posted on social media, the museum described itself as “more than a place that preserves stories of the past,” emphasizing that it also reflects the living culture of Saba today and helps inspire younger generations to value and continue local traditions and heritage.
The museum noted that its collections range from treasured artifacts and historical memories to cultural practices that remain alive within the Saban community, with “every corner” telling a meaningful story.
The institution also extended greetings to museums and cultural organizations worldwide, while reaffirming its commitment to preserving, celebrating, and sharing collective heritage.
International Museum Day is observed annually around the world to raise awareness of the important role museums play in cultural exchange, education, and the preservation of history and identity.
