KRALENDIJK - The Dutch Digital Infrastructure Inspectorate (RDI) has granted Starlink a concession to provide satellite communication services on Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba. With the license, which has a fifteen-year term, the company may deliver internet services via its satellite network to both private individuals and businesses on the three islands of Caribbean Netherlands.
The decision follows a period of enforcement and reassessment. In July 2024, the RDI ordered Starlink to cease providing satellite services because the company did not hold a valid concession. Starlink subsequently submitted an application, but this was rejected as it did not meet all legal requirements. A new application in July 2025 did comply with all requirements, after which the RDI granted permission.
With the concession, Starlink is now under regular supervision by both the RDI and the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). Both agencies monitor whether the company adheres to regulations and whether service quality remains up to standard.
