ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius – A 57-year-old man was arrested on Seagrape Road on Friday evening after being involved in a collision between two vehicles.
Police said the man, identified by the initials R.A.W., was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol. Under the “botsen is blazen” policy, both drivers were required to take a breathalyzer test.
According to police, R.A.W. was unable to successfully complete the test after several attempts. He was taken to the police station, where he also failed to provide a proper sample for a breath analysis.
The man was additionally fined for driving without a valid driver’s license and without insurance.
