KRALENDIJK — Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) organized the fourth edition of its tourist scavenger hunt in Rincon on Saturday, September 19. Ninety children between the ages of 8 and 12 made their way through the historic village as part of the activities surrounding the Month of Tourism.
For the second consecutive year, Crystal Innovations — a local event agency — was responsible for the scavenger hunt’s program. Participants were guided past special locations in Rincon and learned about the history, character, and unique atmosphere of Bonaire’s oldest village.
This year, nine teams participated, each consisting of five children accompanied by an adult. The theme was ‘our harvest’: each team received a local fruit or vegetable — such as okra, sapodilla, pumpkin, or papaya — and had to creatively incorporate it into a costume. The colorful outfits added a festive atmosphere and extra creativity to the scavenger hunt.
After the activities, participants wrapped up the day with lunch at Kos Bon So (’Good Food Just Like That’), a local restaurant in Rincon. All participants received a souvenir, provided by TCB.
The winners will be announced at ‘Taste of Bonaire’ on Saturday, September 26, the closing event of the Month of Tourism.
