WINDWARDSIDE – The Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA) has committed to providing targeted support to the Saba Conservation Foundation (SCF) during a key transition phase. A protocol signed this week outlines DCNA’s role as special advisor to SCF’s Supervisory Council and Managing Board.

SCF manages Saba’s land and marine parks, including one of the world’s oldest marine reserves. DCNA’s assistance will focus on implementing a new governance structure, restructuring strategy and operations, and boosting capacity with specialized expertise.

Local stakeholders

Both organizations stress that collaboration with local stakeholders, including the Public Entity Saba, is essential to safeguarding the island’s unique ecosystems for the future.
