KRALENDIJK - On Tuesday, June 2, BonFM launches the radio series Ban Lesa 2.0 at 5:30 PM. Across 24 episodes, the series celebrates the richness and diversity of Caribbean literature in Papiamentu, English, and Dutch.

Each episode brings together two guests who know each other well. In a warm, personal conversation, they share a book that has moved them. The hosts also ask their guests which music best fits the book and which sentence has stayed with them the most.

The series is deliberately multilingual, so that listeners can connect with the content in their own language. Christy Cecilia hosts eight episodes in Papiamentu, Bradley Howard eight in English, and Linda de Veer eight in Dutch.

Wide range of Caribbean titles

Among the books discussed are Changá by Frank Martinus Arion, De Engelenbron by Erich Zielinski, Miguel Street by V.S. Naipaul, Mi negrita mi ruman by Cola Debrot, A Brief History of Seven Killings by Marlon James, and Tardi op Bonaire by Hanny Lim. All titles are available for loan at the Public Library on Bonaire.

Ban Lesa 2.0 is an initiative of Fundashon di Kurason, Biblioteka Públiko Boneiru, and the Dutch Foundation for Literature. The series airs every Tuesday at 5:30 PM on BonFM 102.7.
