KRALENDIJK – Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) has signed a partnership agreement with nineteen-year-old boxer Ricardi Muñoz, officially appointing him as Bonaire’s local ambassador for 2026.

Ricardi Muñoz, born on March 15, 2007, has been practicing boxing for seven years with great dedication. Originally from the Dominican Republic, he has lived on Bonaire for ten years and considers himself a true Bonairean — someone who wholeheartedly embraces the island’s culture, community, and natural beauty.

He trains six times a week, often twice a day. Ricardi currently competes at elite amateur level and is known for his discipline, resilience, and determination. As a role model for Bonaire’s youth, he dreams of one day reaching the highest levels of international boxing and representing his island on the world’s biggest stages.

He is currently representing Bonaire at the Brazil Grand Prix in Rio de Janeiro. Later this year, he is scheduled to compete in Sint Maarten, Brazil, and Colombia, where he will proudly carry the name of Bonaire on international stages.

Believing in homegrown heroes

“We believe that our best ambassadors are Bonaire’s own residents. Ricardi’s dedication, discipline, and ambition at such a young age are an inspiration and reflect the resilience and determination we want to encourage within our community,” says TCB director Elisiër Angel.
