
GUSTAVIA, St. Barths — Officials in St. Barths recently welcomed a delegation from France’s Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) and representatives of EDF to discuss the island’s future energy strategy and the planned reconstruction of its power plant.
The delegation visited the island’s electricity production facilities and held discussions with EDF teams regarding infrastructure modernization and the evolving energy needs of St. Barths.
Meetings later continued at the Collectivité, where representatives discussed several long-term energy issues, including energy management, the expansion of solar power and the gradual integration of renewable energy into the island’s energy mix.
The discussions involved territorial officials responsible for energy matters as well as representatives of the local business community.
