KRALENDIJK – Following the resignation of commissioners Nina den Heyer and Anjelica Cicilia, the Executive Board has appointed two new commissioners. At the same time, the portfolio distribution has been significantly restructured. This represents a substantial shift in responsibilities, particularly for commissioner Clark Abraham.

Abraham, who was previously responsible for areas including operations, economy, governance and tourism, is now primarily focused on spatial planning, infrastructure and nature management. His new portfolio encompasses the Spatial Planning & Development directorate, supervision and enforcement, spatial planning and development, accessibility and mobility, infrastructure and water management, public works, monuments, agricultural affairs, energy and innovation, nature, environment and ecological restoration, and housing. This means he has largely taken over the responsibilities that previously belonged to Anjelica Cicilia.

Task Redistribution

His former responsibilities, including operations, public services, governance and democracy, government participations, diaspora and remigration, animal welfare, sustainable tourism, economy and entrepreneurship, connectivity, intergovernmental affairs and sports, have largely been transferred to commissioner Weber. Weber now has primary focus on operations, finance, economic development, administrative affairs and tourism.

A smaller portion of Abraham’s former portfolio, such as sports and recreation, has been assigned to commissioner Silberie. Silberie also manages the policy areas that previously fell under Nina den Heyer, including healthcare, education, culture, public health and social affairs.

With this new distribution, the Executive Board aims to ensure administrative continuity and provide clear task allocation following the interim departure of Den Heyer and Cicilia.
