ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius – Law firm DEJONG has opened a physical office on St. Eustatius and announced the appointment of Monique James-Brown as a lawyer based on the island.
James-Brown brings more than 27 years of experience in public service, having worked for the Island Government of St. Eustatius. She also served for more than two decades as a Deputy Judge of Instruction with the Joint Court of Justice, handling cases on St. Eustatius.
According to DEJONG, James-Brown will provide legal advice and representation to residents, businesses and organizations on St. Eustatius, while also assisting with legal work on Saba. The firm said it will continue to emphasize mediation and alternative dispute resolution where possible, reflecting the small-scale nature of both island communities.
