
THE BOTTOM, Saba – Emergency responders assisted a sailboat that ran aground on rocks near Wells Bay on Friday evening.
According to the Public Entity Saba, the Saba Sea Rescue (SAR) vessel and the Coast Guard responded after receiving a report of a vessel in distress. The sailboat was successfully towed off the rocks and proceeded under its own power to Fort Bay Harbor, where it underwent an initial inspection.
Authorities reported that no oil leaks were detected during the first inspection. A more detailed assessment of the vessel’s hull and any other possible damage is scheduled to take place on Saturday morning.
No injuries were reported.
