
ORANJESTAD – St. Eustatius is gearing up for its 61st Carnival celebration, with a packed schedule of events taking place from July 17 through July 28, 2025. Under the theme “Fun Never Done, Vibe Next to None – Statia Carnival 61,”the festivities will include cultural nights, music competitions, parades, and community-focused activities.
The program officially opens on Wednesday, July 17, with the Opening Jump-Up (7 PM–2 AM), followed by the Road March Competition on July 18, featuring 2023 Road March Queen Loca. The days that follow will highlight various themed nights, including International Night – Riddim Up (July 19), Carnival Is Culture with Kes the Band (July 20), and Youth Night & Groovy Show (July 21).
On July 22, the schedule lists Calm Before the Storm, followed by International Night – Flavor Invasion on July 23, and the Rep Yuh Band Show on July 24. Carnival Friday (July 25) features Bacchanal Friday, another international-themed evening.
The traditional Jouvert Morning begins early on July 26, followed by the First Day Parade in the afternoon. July 27 will see the Grand Parade, Band Clash & Sound Clash, Troupe Showcase, and the ceremonial Burning of the Mumu. The season concludes with Bacchanal Kool Dung on July 28.
Anticipation
The Statia Carnival has grown over the years into one of the island’s most anticipated annual events, blending music, pageantry, and cultural expression. Organizers expect strong community participation and encourage residents and visitors to take part in the celebrations safely and respectfully.
