KRALENDIJK – Anyone who wants to know how the first inhabitants of (Klein) Bonaire lived will have the opportunity to learn just that from professional archaeologists this week. On Wednesday, July 1, Island Lives, in partnership with Jong Bonaire, is organizing a free archaeology day featuring hands-on activities for children, young people, and adults.

The program is divided into different age groups. Children aged 8 to 12 can take part in the "Mini Archaeologists" program between 10:30 and 12:30. Young people aged 13 to 18 are welcome at "Young Archaeologists," running from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. For parents and other adults, there will be an information session immediately afterward, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., providing more details about the research into the history of (Klein) Bonaire and the methods archaeologists use.

Participation is free of charge. The activities will take place at Jong Bonaire, located at Kaya Libertador Simon Bolivar 16 in Kralendijk.

The event is part of the Island Lives research project, which is funded by the European Union and the European Research Council.
