KRALENDIJK – Jeaninne Wong-Loi-Sing was appointed and sworn in as acting island governor of Bonaire on July 21, 2026. The appointment was made by acting Kingdom Representative Jan Helmond.
Wong-Loi-Sing will take over the duties of Island Governor Soliano in his absence. She will then hold all the statutory powers that come with the office, ensuring the continuity of the island governorship.
She succeeds Ingrid Sealy, who indicated her wish to step down from her role as acting island governor. The responsibilities could no longer be combined with her position as department head at SSO CN. Helmond thanked Sealy for her dedication over the past years.
Commitment to integrity
Wong-Loi-Sing grew up on Bonaire and has been committed to integrity in the public sector for many years. In 2024, she received the prestigious Ien Dales Integrity Award in the European Netherlands. Thanks to her community involvement, she knows the island well and understands what is happening within Bonairean society.
