ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius — Police conducted traffic checks at multiple locations on Sint Eustatius over the weekend, issuing nine fines for a range of traffic violations.
Three motorists were fined for driving without having paid road tax. Other offences included driving without a valid driving licence, failing to wear a helmet or seat belt, and being unable to present insurance documents. Two scooters were also confiscated. Fines for these violations range from $30 to $225.
A spokesperson for KPCN reminded road users to keep all required documents valid and in order and to comply with the Traffic Ordinance. Regular checks will continue, with strict action taken against those who fail to do so. By observing the rules, road users contribute to safer traffic on Sint Eustatius.
