KRALENDIJK – Curoil will be conducting tests with the new fire suppression system at its terminal in Hato on March 30 and 31. Residents and passersby on Kaya Gobernador N. Debrot may notice water or foam, but there is no cause for concern.

The tests are part of the final steps to comply with the latest safety requirements of the Netherlands Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT). During the test operations, Curoil will use water and fluorine-free foam to verify that the system is functioning correctly and ready for use.

No danger to people or the environment

A limited amount of foam may temporarily end up on the roadway. The foam contains no PFAS and poses no risk to people or the environment. The activities are planned safety tests and do not indicate an emergency or incident.

Curoil is conducting the tests with the safety and well-being of the Bonaire community in mind. The company thanks the Bonaire community for their understanding and cooperation.
