KRALENDIJK - The Education Executive Agency (DUO) will visit the Caribbean region from March 9 to 27 to better prepare students for their studies in the Netherlands. DUO is opening temporary service offices and organizing information sessions about student financing.
Through government.nl/caribbeanstudents, students receive a personalized overview with information about their rights and which matters they need to arrange. The tool also shows where students can get help.
"We see that Caribbean students and their parents find the tool very valuable and that students are better prepared when they leave for the Netherlands," says Hoogerwerf, Caribbean region coordinator at DUO. "This contributes to a good start to their studies."
Information sessions on four islands
In March, DUO is opening temporary service offices on Saba (March 10), Sint Eustatius (March 11-12), Sint Maarten, Bonaire, and Aruba. On Curaçao, DUO has had a service office open for an extended period since April 2025.
