ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius - The St. Eustatius Health Care Foundation (SEHCF) has received two new ambulances intended to strengthen emergency response and healthcare services on the island.
According to SEHCF, the ambulances arrived on St. Eustatius on Tuesday after approximately three months in transit. The vehicles were custom-built by NAFFCO in Dubai to meet the island’s operational and emergency response needs.
The new ambulances are equipped with advanced medical technology and feature four-wheel-drive capabilities, which SEHCF says will help emergency personnel navigate difficult terrain and improve access to patients across the island.
SEHCF Director Flip van Woerkom described the arrival as an important step for healthcare services on Statia and said the vehicles form part of broader efforts to strengthen and modernize healthcare infrastructure on the island. The organization also referred to future renovation projects and additional healthcare development plans.
Vehicle inspection
SEHCF thanked staff member Eligio Woodley, who traveled to Dubai in October 2025 to inspect the vehicles and verify that they met the specifications required for use on St. Eustatius.
