KRALENDIJK – The Directorate of Supervision and Enforcement (DTH) on Saturday morning stopped demolition activities at a building on Kaya Grandi, after receiving multiple reports about potentially unsafe and irresponsible work.

An on-site inspection revealed that demolition was taking place without the necessary permits or documentation. The removal of the building’s roof raised additional concerns, as it was unclear whether asbestos or other hazardous materials were involved.

To prevent risks to public health, DTH immediately halted all work at the location. The department is reminding residents and business owners that valid permits must be obtained prior to starting any demolition or construction, in order to avoid shutdowns and legal consequences.

With this intervention, DTH reinforces its role in protecting public health and ensuring a safe and livable environment for the community.
