THE BOTTOM, SABA- A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature (LVVN) recently visited Saba to assess the progress of projects focused on nature conservation, agriculture, and food security, and to discuss future national climate and nature priorities for the Caribbean Netherlands.

During the visit, the delegation met with local partners involved in marine and terrestrial conservation, including an excursion to the Saba Bank to observe ongoing shark monitoring activities. Several Nature and Environment Policy Plan (NEPP) project sites on the island were also visited. In addition, attention was given to local food-security initiatives such as the hydroponic farm, the butcher station for locally produced meat, and reforestation efforts aimed at strengthening long-term food supply and ecosystem restoration.
