KRALENDIJK – The paving of four streets in the Tanki Matrimonio neighbourhood has been successfully completed. Openbaar Lichaam Bonaire (OLB) immediately began work on two new streets. The project is part of a broader investment in safe, sustainable and accessible neighbourhoods on Bonaire.

As part of the project, OLB is paving multiple streets in Tanki Matrimonio while simultaneously installing an improved rainwater drainage system. This enhances accessibility in the neighbourhood and better addresses flooding during rainfall.

Work on Kaya Bazinia, Kaya Gobi, Kaya Zjar and Kaya Trepochi has now been completed. Work has since begun on Kaya Fogon and Kaya Stèlchi, where paving and drainage work is currently underway.

Acting director Ligwino Leito emphasises the importance of the project: ‘With this project, Openbaar Lichaam Bonaire is working step by step towards better infrastructure, improved road safety and a more pleasant living environment for the residents of Tanki Matrimonio. We hope to complete the full project later this year.’

The works in the residential area may cause temporary inconvenience. OLB thanks all residents and road users in Tanki Matrimonio for their understanding, patience and cooperation.
