ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius – The restoration of the iconic Madam Theatre has officially entered its design phase with a recent visit from Newton Consultancy, the firm tasked with designing the new building. Accompanied by architects from Michael Newton & Co and programme managers Nicole Asin and Raimie Richardson, the team conducted measurements and a structural inspection of the site.

The project is part of the Regional Deal: Statia 2026 and marks a significant step toward revitalising the island’s cultural infrastructure. As part of the planning process, Newton Consultancy also met with local dance and art organisations to gather community input, which the programme management team considers essential.
