SABA – According to Public Entity Saba, work is ongoing to restore the island’s R.O. water distribution system after technical problems with key pumps reduced the flow of water through the network.

Due to the issues, the filling station in The Bottom remains closed. Water trucks are currently being supplied through the stations in Windwardside and Zion’s Hill to reduce pressure on the system.

Specialists from VEI (Dutch Water Operators) are working together with local staff to install new pumps and make adjustments to improve the water distribution network. Work is also ongoing to strengthen the island’s long-term water infrastructure.

According to Public Entity Saba, the consumer price for R.O. water remains unchanged at 40 dollars per load of one thousand gallons. Residents are being asked to continue conserving water while repair work continues.
