THE BOTTOM – Saba Grows, the hydroponics farm at Rendez-Vous, and the Saba Comprehensive School (SCS) are continuing their collaboration to give students practical experience in agriculture and sustainability.

After a successful first year, the school garden program has returned for the new academic year, offering lower-form and PrO students weekly sessions at the Hydroponics Farm. Students learn both traditional plant care and modern hydroponic techniques, combining basic gardening skills with innovative approaches to sustainable farming.

A new feature this year is the introduction of class projects, where each group designs, plants, and maintains its own raised garden bed. Some students have also started job-shadowing placements at the farm, gaining hands-on experience with daily agricultural operations.

Inspire

The program aims to spark curiosity and inspire a new generation to appreciate the importance of local food production and sustainable farming on Saba.
