ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius – Commissioner Rechelline Leerdam will take maternity leave from September 22 through October 31, the Statia government has announced.
Ahead of her leave, Leerdam will work remotely from September 7 until September 21. She is scheduled to begin a phased return on November 2 and is expected to resume her duties fully by November 16.
According to the government, arrangements have been made to cover Leerdam’s portfolios during her absence. Ongoing projects and preparations for Statia Week and Statia Day are expected to continue as scheduled.
