PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – The Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication (TEATT) has given car rental permit holders who have not yet completed the 2026 confirmation process until September 21 to regularize their status.
Around 48 car rental companies have completed the process and received confirmation letters. The exercise is part of a clean-up of the government’s public transportation database.
Operators not included on the Ministry’s list must submit the required documentation or, if they are no longer operating, explain their status to the Inspectorate of Economic and Transport Affairs.
TEATT warned that permits which have not been used for more than six consecutive months may be suspended or revoked. Operators who fail to respond by the deadline could face administrative action.
