THE BOTTOM, Saba – The Saba Conservation Foundation last week looked back on a successful season of its Junior Rangers programme, highlighting months of outdoor learning and environmental education for participating children.
According to the foundation, the programme introduced young participants to Saba’s natural environment through activities including snorkeling, kayaking, marine life exploration and trail maintenance. The children also learned about sharks, sea turtles and the ecological role of sargassum, while taking part in arts and crafts inspired by marine conservation.
The programme concluded with a pool party and the presentation of snorkel certificates. The Saba Conservation Foundation thanked the Child FOCUS Foundation for its partnership and praised the enthusiasm and curiosity shown by the Junior Rangers throughout the programme.
Returning next school year
The foundation said the Junior Rangers programme will return during the next school year and noted that children can meanwhile participate in two weeks of summer activities organised through the Child FOCUS Foundation.
