KRALENDIJK – In the coming months, the Department of Spatial Planning and Development (R&O) will begin large-scale infrastructure works in the city center. On July 6, 2026, an information board was officially unveiled to mark the start of the next phase of the project and to keep the community informed.

These works will not only reconstruct the roads, but also improve the drainage system. In addition, sidewalks will be restored and trees and plants will be planted to create a more pleasant and cooler city center.

Work will begin on Kaya Princesa Marie. The remaining streets will follow in later phases. The streets to be addressed are Kaya Grandi phase 3 and Kaya Princesa Marie.

Minimizing disruption

Because the works are taking place in the city center, some temporary inconvenience is unavoidable. That is why the works will be carried out in different phases to minimize disruption to traffic, visitors, and businesses as much as possible. Diversion signs will be placed to indicate this.
