ORANJESTAD/THE BOTTOM – The new automated teller machines (ATMs) installed on St. Eustatius and Saba through De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) now accept Mastercard, the Statia Government has announced.
The update means that cardholders can use Mastercard at the recently installed ATMs to access available banking services. Until now, the machines accepted Visa cards only.
The additional ATMs were installed as part of a joint initiative by De Nederlandsche Bank, the Public Entities St. Eustatius and Saba and Brink’s to improve access to cash on the island. Earlier this month, new machines became operational at strategic points on both islands.
The acceptance of Mastercard marks the completion of a key improvement that had been anticipated by residents and visitors who rely on the payment network. The government said members of the public can now use their Mastercard cards at the new ATMs to access the available banking services.
