BRIDGETOWN, Barbados — More than 4,200 participants from 102 countries have registered within two weeks for a free online course designed to strengthen grant proposal writing skills across the Caribbean.

The self-paced course was developed by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and Canada’s Local Engagement and Action Fund (LEAF). It aims to help community organizations, government agencies and development practitioners prepare stronger funding proposals and improve access to development financing.

The programme was created specifically for the Caribbean and follows a 2023 assessment that found 94 percent of community groups and civil society organizations had little or no proposal-writing experience.

Professional development credits

Participants who complete the course receive certification from the University of Wolverhampton and 20 Continuing Professional Development credits.
