After several months of disappointing figures, Bonaire tourism shows a small increase again

KRALENDIJK – Bonaire welcomed 12,758 stayover tourists in September 2026. That is 4.6 percent more than in the same month of 2025, when 12,196 visitors came to Bonaire. This is according to preliminary figures from Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB).

The recovery follows a period of disappointing figures. In July 2026, for example, there were 15,984 stayover visitors, 4 percent fewer than in July 2025, when there were 16,653 visitors.

The Netherlands remained the most important market, with 6,234 visitors, accounting for 48.9 percent of the total. The United States follows with 2,613 visitors (20.4 percent), while 1,601 visitors (12.5 percent) came from Curaçao. Other markets included Aruba, Germany, Belgium, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and the United Kingdom.

Among visitors from the United States, diving was the main reason for visiting Bonaire at 48.1 percent, followed by vacation at 40.5 percent. More than half of these American visitors, 58.1 percent, stayed in a hotel. Florida, Texas, California, Georgia and North Carolina were the states that most American visitors came from.
