Travelers at Aruba Airport No Longer Required to Remove Shoes

ORANJESTAD – Passengers departing from Aruba’s international airport will no longer need to remove their shoes during security screening. The Aruba Airport Authority (AAA) has announced the change, which takes effect today.

According to the airport authority, the adjustment is designed to make the screening process faster and more comfortable for travelers, while maintaining international security standards.

Passengers can now pass through security without removing their shoes, which AAA says should reduce waiting times and improve the flow of passengers at the security checkpoint.

Improvements

AAA states that the change has been made possible by improvements to the security infrastructure and close collaboration with partners responsible for aviation security.

Travelers are still advised to arrive at the airport on time and to continue following existing regulations regarding liquids, electronic devices, and travel documents.

Aruba’s airport is one of the busiest in the Caribbean. More than 24 airlines serve the island, which processes over 3.2 million passengers annually, with connections to 31 countries and 45 direct destinations worldwide.
