KRALENDIJK – Qredits has highlighted the effects of its work on Bonaire in its latest Social Impact Report. Since starting on the island in 2015, the non-profit foundation has played a major role in supporting start-ups and small businesses.
Up to 2024, Qredits has helped create 1,011 jobs on Bonaire, equal to 5.5 percent of the labor force. More than half (54%) of entrepreneurs indicated that their business would not have been possible without Qredits’ support. In addition, 79% of the financed businesses remain active after five years, with many entrepreneurs now financially independent.
Besides microcredit and targeted loans – for agriculture, culture, and sustainability – Qredits also provides coaching and training. In 2024, nine coaching programs and fourteen training sessions and workshops were held.
