KRALENDIJK – Team Bonaire is participating in the Pickleball World Cup for the second consecutive year. The world championship will take place from August 30 to September 6, 2026, in Da Nang, Vietnam. Following last year’s successful participation, in which Bonaire claimed a silver and a bronze medal, the team is hoping to deliver another strong performance.

The Bonairean delegation consists of players both under and over the age of 50, competing in various age and competition categories.

The Pickleball World Cup is organized in collaboration with America & Asia Connect (AAC) and promises to be the largest edition to date. Approximately 80 countries and delegations are expected to participate, with more than 4,000 competitors. Last year, 68 delegations and over 2,500 athletes took part in the event.

The matches will be played at the Tien Son Sport Center and the Tuyen Son Sport Complex, supplemented by additional venues in Da Nang. The program features five categories: Kids, Juniors, Open, Seniors, and Masters. The organization also intends to attempt a Guinness World Record during the tournament. This year’s event is held under the motto: "One World. One Game. One Champion."

According to Pickleball Association Bonaire, Team Bonaire’s participation underscores the growth of the sport on the island and the ambition to build on last year’s success.

To make the trip and participation in the world championship possible, the association is still looking for sponsors. Companies and organizations wishing to support the team can contact Pickleball Association Bonaire. In return, the association offers the opportunity to organize a team day or pickleball clinic for employees.
