KRALENDIJK – Students of the Integral Child Centre (IKC) Kristu Bon Wardador (KBW) wrapped up the school year in a special way with the Mundialito. This football tournament brought together students from years 5 through 8, teachers and staff for a week full of sport, teamwork and fun.
The idea for the Mundialito came from PE teacher Rendelon Martina. Inspired by the football World Cup, he wanted to give students a sporty and festive end to the school year. What started as a simple idea grew into a major event for the entire school.
To make his plan a reality, Martina teamed up with the Public Entity Bonaire (OLB), Indebon and various sponsors. Thanks to their support, the Mundialito could be organised. All teams played in matching kits, creating a true World Cup atmosphere.
During the Mundialito, in which students from the International Language Class (ITK) and SG also took part, each class from years 5 to 8 represented a country. The teams played in the colours of the country assigned to them by draw. In addition to the football tournament, students and teachers participated in various sports activities, including a header duel, a penalty shootout and other sporting challenges.
The aim of the Mundialito was to close the school year in a sporty and festive way. Sport, respect, teamwork and fun were at the heart of it all. At the same time, students, teachers and staff had the chance to get to know each other better in a different setting.
