KRALENDIJK – Last Saturday, with a one-week delay due to the rain, the closing day of the Tennis Competition took place. The tournament, played on the courts of Eddie’s in Hato and the tennis courts of Sabadeco, attracted more than 50 participants who competed in the doubles’ category over six weeks.

The competition was divided into three categories: Fun, Intermediate, and Advanced, with both men and women playing together in the same schedule.

The closing day, in particular, was a great success, featuring exciting finals, an award ceremony, and an enjoyable BBQ. In the Advanced category final, Robert Martis and Peter Drijver emerged as the winners after defeating Amy Damascus and her coach Jevon May in an emotional match.

Turnout

The tennis association is pleased with the large turnout and is looking ahead with many plans for the future. Next month, the singles’ competition will begin, and soon there will also be tennis clinics for youth aged 8 to 12 on Saturdays. Additionally, the association organizes tennis lessons for youth on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.
