KRALENDIJK – The leader of the Partido Pueblo Progresivo (PPP), James Finies, is demanding clarity on the concrete results of the recent visit by an official Bonaire delegation to the Netherlands. He made this known in a press release. According to Finies, after more than ten years of visits, meetings and conferences, the people of Bonaire have the right to know what all of this actually delivers.

In Finies’ view, simply attending meetings and conferences cannot in itself be presented as an achievement. Delegations must return with concrete agreements, clear deadlines and results that improve the daily lives of residents.

The PPP specifically points to poverty, high prices for food and electricity, a lack of affordable housing, and the prospects for Bonairean students in the Netherlands. Finies argues that, despite years of dialogue with the Netherlands, many families still struggle to meet their basic needs.

The PPP leader is asking the delegation to give a public explanation upon its return about which agreements were made, who is responsible for carrying them out, and when the public can expect results.

“The people of Bonaire do not need yet another festival of words. They need results,” said Finies. According to him, the most important question is not how many meetings have been held, but what will actually change for the people of Bonaire.
