KRALENDIJK – On Tuesday, the Dutch House of Representatives adopted a motion calling on the government to proceed with determination with the development of the Nos Bario nursing home on Bonaire. The motion was submitted by CDA MP Eveline Tijmstra and received broad support.
The motion is not only about Bonaire. The House also asks the government to continue the development of the Integrated Care and Living Centre on Sint Eustatius. In addition, the government must inform the House about the progress of both projects in the next progress letter.
For Bonaire, the passage on Nos Bario is of particular importance. The nursing home is to become part of the island’s future elderly care. With the adopted motion, the House of Representatives speaks out in favour of continuing the development of the project.
The motion was submitted on 23 September during the debate on the Kingdom Relations budget and the BES Fund for 2027.
Among others, SP, 50PLUS, PRO, D66, Volt, Party for the Animals, CDA, DENK, VVD, ChristianUnion, JA21, Member Keijzer, Groep Markuszower and FVD voted in favour of the motion. This shows there is broad political support in the House of Representatives for continuing Nos Bario.
