Central Control Room of the Police Caribbean Netherlands celebrates fifteenth anniversary

KRALENDIJK - The Police Corps Caribbean Netherlands (KPCN) celebrated the fifteenth anniversary of the Central Control Room and the reception desk Intake & Service on Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba on August 15. Exactly fifteen years earlier, the foundation was laid for what has since grown into the central coordination point for the emergency services in Caribbean Netherlands.
Before the establishment of the control room, tasks such as handling emergency calls, directing patrols and assisting visitors at the police station largely fell to the duty commander. To professionalize these tasks, a group of staff members traveled to Curaçao at the time, where they completed an intensive seven-week training course at the Suffisant barracks.
The control room now serves as the central reporting point for, among others, the police, the ambulance service, the fire brigade and the Royal Military Police. Of the first group who completed the training at the time, five staff members are still active within the corps on a daily basis.
