KRALENDIJK – STINAPA Bonaire has introduced a new governance structure as of August 18. The nature organization will now operate with a Supervisory Board and an Executive Board. This concludes a reorganization process initiated at the end of 2025 to create a clearer separation of responsibilities within the organization.

The Supervisory Board oversees the management, policies, and financial continuity of STINAPA. The board consists of chairperson Anjelica Cicilia, Peter Hengeveld, Francis Pieter, and Sherwin Pourier. Melissa van Hoorn forms the Executive Board and is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of the organization.

The management team has also been renewed over the past year. With the appointment of a Manager Education & Communication in June, STINAPA considers this team complete.

Clearer separation

With these changes, STINAPA aims to establish a clearer separation between supervision, management, and operations. The organization states that it is now better prepared for the growing challenges facing nature conservation on Bonaire, including climate change, spatial development, tourism, and the use of natural resources.
