KRALENDIJK - Frank van der Lende is the new Head of Basic Police Care at the Caribbean Netherlands Police Force (KPCN). The experienced police officer comes from Aruba and brings more than thirty years of police experience with him.

Van der Lende began his police career in 1992 at the police academy in Heerlen. After his training, he worked in South Limburg, primarily in Maastricht. In 1997, he received an opportunity through the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations to go to Aruba. What started as a temporary adventure became a long-term career on the island.

Various Positions in Aruba

At the Aruba Police Force, Van der Lende held various positions. He served as senior instructor, coordinator of the maritime police, and section commander within a specialized operational unit. He was also a member of the SGBO and for the past six years fulfilled the role of crisis leader of the judicial cluster within the disaster management structure of the Aruban government.

Since October 13, Van der Lende has been officially working as Head of Basic Police Care at the KPCN.

Culture of Trust

"I deliberately chose to take this step," says Van der Lende. "I want to use my experience to support and inspire the next generation of colleagues. What drives me is building a culture of trust, cooperation, and pride; a work environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and engaged."

The KPCN thanks Edwin van der Giessen for his years of dedication as Head of Basic Police Care. He will remain active within the force and will focus on strengthening the preparation of training programs.
