
KRALENDIJK – From August 20 to 27, 2026, the 525th Company will conduct a military exercise on Bonaire. The unit is part of the Royal Netherlands Army and is permanently stationed on Curaçao. The aim is to become better acquainted with the neighborhoods of Bonaire and to strengthen cooperation with local authorities and emergency services.
The military personnel will train at various well-known locations across the island. During this period, they will use the grounds and facilities of the scouting club in Rincon as their base of operations.
In addition to military training, the unit will also carry out community service activities on the island, such as maintenance work and support for local organizations.
During this period, residents and visitors may encounter military personnel and vehicles at various locations across the island. The Public Entity Bonaire asks everyone to be mindful of this and to follow any instructions given wherever instructed.
Operational readyness
The exercises are part of the Dutch Defense organization’s ongoing efforts to maintain the operational readiness of its Caribbean units and to build strong ties with local authorities and emergency services on Bonaire.
