KRALENDIJK – The Directorate of Supervision and Enforcement (DT&H) is inspecting food stalls at the Regatta Festival to check that they comply with hygiene and food safety rules. One eatery in the festival area had to close for hygienic reasons.

The inspections showed that most food stalls were in order. A number of stalls were given instructions on a few hygiene points that needed improvement. DT&H will continue to inspect strictly throughout the festival.

Ahead of the festival, all owners of stalls selling food attended an information session held by DT&H. It took place on 9 October at SKAL. Staff from the Department of Community and Care explained the rules they must follow when preparing and serving food safely.

DT&H calls on all stall owners to comply with the hygiene and food safety rules. This is intended to protect public health and contribute to a Regatta Festival that is as safe as possible.
