STATIA/SABA – The Statia and Saba Chambers of Commerce hosted information sessions last week on intellectual property, focusing on trademarks and copyrights, to help local entrepreneurs better protect their brands and creative work.
The sessions took place on both islands in collaboration with the BIP SXM Bureau for Intellectual Property. The bureau’s specialists gave participants practical guidance on protecting brands, creative work and business assets in a competitive economy. Attendees praised the clarity and relevance of the presentations, as well as the real-world examples used throughout.
Strong interest from entrepreneurs
President Richardson said the turnout and engagement showed that local entrepreneurs are eager to learn about and safeguard their ideas. She added that the Chambers intend to keep offering workshops and training for business owners at every stage of development.
Trade mission to Miami in November
Richardson also urged clients and stakeholders to update their contact details with the Chambers, so they do not miss updates ahead of a trade mission to Miami planned for late November. The mission is expected to offer local businesses networking and exposure opportunities.
