ORANJESTAD – Airline Delta Air Lines is expanding its service to Aruba with a new direct route from Detroit. Starting December 19, the carrier will operate weekly Saturday flights directly between Detroit and Queen Beatrix International Airport in Oranjestad.
The new route will remain in service through April 11, 2027, and marks the first direct connection Delta has ever offered between Detroit and Aruba. The link gives Aruba’s tourism sector access to a new pool of travelers from the American Midwest.
In addition to the new route, Delta is also increasing capacity on existing connections. During the same winter season, a second daily flight between Boston and Aruba will be introduced, and the Minneapolis/St. Paul–Aruba service will be adjusted to a weekly Saturday flight.
According to Delta, the changes are intended to offer travelers greater flexibility and expand the number of travel options to Aruba. The airline already operates direct services between Aruba and New York (John F. Kennedy International Airport) and Atlanta.
The expansion is being viewed as a positive signal for Aruba’s tourism industry. Those involved say the new route underscores the sustained demand from the United States and the willingness of major airlines to continue investing in the island’s accessibility.
