
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – The Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied (CCG) has concluded a working visit to Saba, St. Eustatius and St. Maarten aimed at strengthening cooperation with cultural organizations and exploring new opportunities for cultural development across the region.
During meetings on Saba and Statia, discussions focused on heritage preservation, cultural education, youth engagement and the performing arts. According to CCG, the visit generated interest in funding opportunities and is expected to lead to new project proposals from both islands.
Fonds op naam Concept
The visit ended on St. Maarten, where CCG introduced its Fonds op Naam concept to members of the business community as a way to encourage private support for cultural and environmental initiatives. The organization also presented its 2026 Culture Prize to EPIC (Environmental Protection in the Caribbean) in recognition of its contribution to preserving St. Maarten’s natural, cultural and historical heritage.
CCG supports projects in culture, heritage, education and community development throughout the Dutch Caribbean.
