Kralendijk- Waste Management company Selibon NV, will shortly start with the collection of old vehicles and car wrecks.
Investments have in the meantime been made to be able to crush collected car wrecks, so that remains can be exported and sold outside of Bonaire. Abroad, a part of the recycled materials from old cars, can be reused.
The recycling of material from car wrecks is in line with the policy of Selibon NV, which is to keep Bonaire clean and to prevent as much as possible that waste or material no longer used, will be ‘dumped’ at the landfill.
A start has already been made by the company with a registration of end-of-life vehicles. This service is completely free. By means the registration, the owner of the car gives the Selibon NV the authority to collect the wreck and crush it.
Selibon points out that residents who have a wreck in their yard or close to their house can make use of the opportunity to have car wreck removed by Selibon N.V.
