ORANJESTAD — With hurricane season upon us, the Statia Government has released the official list of 21 Atlantic hurricane names for 2026. This year’s storms will be named alphabetically, starting with Arthur and ending with Wilfred, with names including Cristobal, Josephine, Marco and Teddy in between.
Authorities are calling on residents to stay informed, stay vigilant and stay safe. "Let’s work together to keep Statia safe this season," the government stated.
Residents are encouraged to make sure their emergency plans are in place and to follow official updates closely throughout the season.
